Fill the Truck Food Drive for Hand in Hand

When you donate to the Fill the Truck Food Drive for Hand in Hand on October 4, you’re doing more than stocking shelves.
The Hand in Hand Pantry serves as a market for school social workers who know the unique needs of each child and family they serve. Rather than handing out the same box to everyone, social workers personally select the food, toiletries, and household essentials that best fit each family’s situation. Hand in Hand partners directly with local school social workers to provide individualized support to families facing their greatest challenges.
One family may need pantry staples because a grandmother is stretching every meal to feed her grandchildren. Another may need easy-open canned foods because children are home alone after school. During school breaks, when many children lose access to the free school lunches, social workers often deliver large quantities of food directly to homes to help sustain the family. We provide hundreds of bags of food for families during these times. We provide for other needs as well —a child without a bed, a family without toiletries, or a home missing basic household essentials. Hand in Hand is committed to responding quickly with dignity, compassion, and exactly what’s needed.
As fall begins, the need is especially great. After a busy summer of supporting families, pantry shelves are often at their lowest just as a new school year brings new requests.
Your donation of nonperishable food, paper products, hygiene items, and household essentials helps ensure that when we get a call for help, we can respond immediately.
Join us for the Fill the Truck Food Drive for Hand in Hand on October 4 and help keep our pantry ready for whatever need walks through the door. Together, we can make a meaningful difference—one family, one child, and one act of kindness at a time.
