Habitat for Humanity of Spartanburg is committed to empowering deserving, hardworking families. Seeking to put God's love into action, Habitat Spartanburg brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

Habitat was founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent and affordable home to live in dignity and safety.

To volunteer, contact Carrie Vaughn ([email protected] / 864-591-2221 ext 105) and note that you’d like to help build the FPC house.

First Presbyterian was one of the founding faith partners for Habitat in Spartanburg and has been by far the most prolific supporter of this ministry to provide an affordable path to home ownership for families who would never otherwise qualify for a mortgage loan. First Presbyterian has fully sponsored fifteen Habitat homes, partially sponsored five more homes, and provided funds to renovate five homes for a total 25 of the 133 homes constructed beginning in 1989. Of the 31 Habitat homeowners who have fully paid off their mortgages, seven are First Presbyterian homeowners.
