I believe in the Triune God as revealed in both the Old and New Testaments: a holy, just, wise, and good God who creates and cares for all—designating humanity imago dei, in the image of God. I believe God is a loving Parent who is all-knowing, sovereign, and forgiving of our transgressions.

I believe in Jesus Christ, the Word made flesh, fully human and fully divine, who came to live with humanity on Earth and ultimately sacrifice His life for our sins. I believe Christ was crucified and resurrected to grant us reconciliation and eternal life.

I believe in the Holy Spirit—Comforter, Sustainer, Motivator—the Source of life who guides our hearts and abides in us. I profess the Holy Spirit is the well-spring of life, providing joy to all.

I believe in the church, which is the people of God, the body of Christ, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit. The church in its most general sense is ecclesia, the gathering of the people of God to worship the Lord. It is a sacred space for proclaiming the Gospel, serving the sacraments, spiritual formation, fellowship, and living out one’s faith in service and mission.

I believe in the communion of Saints, a congregation of Christians from all times and places united in Christ. I believe in the sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper: instituted by God, commended by Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, which are signs of the real presence and power of Christ in the church universal.

I believe in the good news of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior that evokes hope and joy for all in the promises of eternal life and the heavenly Kingdom. Christ’s resurrection provides a living hope, deeming us heirs to an inheritance which is pure and everlasting.
