November 18-24th is Get Smart about Antibiotics week.
CDC is inviting families, friends, organizations, and communities to shine a spotlight on antimicrobial resistance by participating in Go Purple for USAAW. This nationwide effort encourages individuals to wear purple and bring purple to their social media and invites organizations, healthcare facilities, and municipalities to light up buildings and landmarks purple to bring awareness to the role everyone has in combating antimicrobial resistance.

Parkinson's Support Group
Our Parkinson’s Support Group (led by the Greenville Area Parkinson Society) is returning to First Presbyterian!
The Greenville Area Parkinson Society (G.A.P.S.) is a local non-profit organization in the Upstate of South Carolina that offers support, education, and advocacy to people living with Parkinson’s Disease, their care partners, spouses, and families.
Meetings will be in the William L. Arthur Center from 4:30-6:00pm on the third Tuesday of each month. Contact Beth Cecil for more information ([email protected] or 864-641-8772).

Alzheimer's & Dementia Support Group
First Presbyterian Church is hosting a support group for caregivers of family members with dementia. The group will meet 12:00-1:00pm on the third Thursday of each month in Room F202 (on the second floor of the FLC). The group will be co-facilitated by the Rev. Dr. Jerone Wilder, an Alzheimer’s Association certified Community Educator and Support Group Facilitator, and our Parish Nurse Beth Cecil.

Grief Support Group
The Grief Support Group provides those who have experienced the death of a loved one the opportunity to walk the journey of grief with others. The blessing of support from those walking a similar journey is invaluable.
Anna Rickell, MSW, LISW-CP, CGP, church member, and experienced psychotherapist, along with our Parish Nurse, Beth Cecil, RN, serve as co-facilitators. A grief group is offered in the spring and fall.
