The Legacy Fellowship honors friends and members of First Presbyterian Church who have named the church in their wills and/or other estate plans.

By providing individuals with an opportunity to practice faithful stewardship of accumulated resources, The Fellowship helps to ensure funding of ministries, missions, and facilities of our congregation and the larger church in perpetuity.

The Fellowship is for everyone and every gift of any size, no matter what the amount or percentage of your estate. It is not necessary to disclose amounts designated for the church. Membership may be anonymous or named in a listing of Fellowship members, at the discretion of the donor.

Your legacy gifts, no matter how small or how large the amounts, will make a difference.

Though it is the smallest of all seeds, yet when it grows, it is the largest of garden plants and becomes a tree, so the birds come and perch in its branches. Matthew 13:32

Examples of Planned Giving:

  • Bequests - one of the simplest and most generous ways to give
  • Endowed Gifts - legacies for generations to come
  • Retirement Assets - retirement assets may be worth more if you donate to our mission and ministries
  • Life Insurance - if the original purpose has been achieved, consider using it as a gift to the church
  • Account Beneficiary Designation - designated First Presbyterian as a recipient

Options for Giving:

We encourage each member to seek professional advice for their giving decisions.

Members can choose to make their gifts through:

Option 1. Unrestricted Funds

Designating an endowed gift as “unrestricted” ensures that the donor’s gifts meet a broad range of ever-changing needs of the church.

Option 2. Designated Funds

The donor may wish to designate the areas the gift will support. In addition to unrestricted funds, the church manages three categories to support our many programs, missions, and building and grounds: General, Ministry, and Facilities Improvement and Preservation. There is no minimum gift requirement for these funds.

Option 3. Donor Named Fund

A named fund can be created with a minimum gift of $25,000. This allows the donor to specifically direct how the fund is to be allocated.
