Thank you to all who have donated laptops for this ministry! Please keep them coming!

First Presbyterian's New Laptop Ministry: Give Your Old Laptop New Life

Do you have an old laptop you no longer use? Through First Presbyterian's Laptop Ministry, your device can make a meaningful difference in someone's life by providing access to technology they might not otherwise have.

How It Works:
Laptops are distributed to individuals in need of computer or internet access, based on formal requests from church staff, ministries, or affiliated organizations. Donations will be made both locally and internationally. We are excited to share that four laptops have already been donated to individuals in Santa Clara, Cuba and two donated to Angel's Charge Ministry.

What Happens to Your Laptop:

  • All donated laptops are professionally reset.
  • Hard drives are securely wiped to remove all personal information.
  • A new operating system, wireless functionality, and productivity software are installed to prepare the laptop for its next user.

Laptops That Can’t Be Upgraded:
Devices that cannot be refurbished will be donated to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Divers Association (SCLEDA). SCLEDA is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the safety and operations of law enforcement dive teams across South Carolina.

How to Donate:

  • Laptop Donations: Drop off your device at the church financial office.
  • Financial Contributions: Support the ministry through check, cash, or online giving. Financial donations will be reflected in your giving statement.

Please note that donated laptops are considered a non-cash contribution, and you will receive a letter for tax purposes.

Thank you for supporting this ministry and helping to bridge the digital divide—one laptop at a time.
